Finite-temperature mean-field approximations for shell model Hamiltonians: the code HF-SHELL

نویسندگان

چکیده

We present the code HF-SHELL for solving self-consistent mean-field equations configuration-interaction shell model Hamiltonians in proton-neutron formalism. The can calculate both ground-state and finite-temperature properties Hartree-Fock (HF), HF+Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (HF+BCS), Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) approximations. Particle-number projection after variation is incorporated to reduce grand-canonical ensemble canonical ensemble, making particularly suitable calculation of nuclear state densities. does not impose axial symmetry allows triaxial quadrupole deformations. self-consistency cycle robust through use heavy-ball optimization technique implementation different options constrain degrees freedom.

New “USD” Hamiltonians for the sd shell

We derive new Hamiltonians for the sd shell, USDA and USDB, based on a renormalized G matrix with linear combinations of two-body matrix elements adjusted to fit a complete set of data for experimental binding energies and excitation energies for the sd-shell nuclei. These Hamiltonians provide a new level of precision for realistic sd-shell wave functions for applications to nuclear structure a...

Synthesis of mean-field and shell-model configuration-mixing methods

The Mean-Field (MF) and Shell-Model Configuration-Mixing (SMCM) methods are two microscopic approaches for calculating the nuclear masses which are complementary to each other. However, one usually finds them used in isolation from each other. In this talk I will review the strengths of these methods as well as their limitations. They are contrasted by the type of data which are used to constra...

The Shell-Model Code NuShellX@MSU

NuShellX is a set of computer codes written by Bill Rae [1] that are used to obtain exact energies, eigenvectors and spectrosopic overlaps for low-lying states in shellmodel Hamiltonian matrix calculations with very large basis dimensions It uses a J-coupled proton-neutron basis, and J-scheme matrix dimensions of up to the order of 100 million can be considered. NuShellX@MSU is a set of wrapper...

Effective Hamiltonians for motions with disparate time scales: The quantum shell model and the classical statistical shell model

The shell model of atomic polarizability is generalized to include a statistical distribution of shell states for each instantaneous configuration of the cores. Effective Hamiltonians for motions of the cores are derived for both quantum and classical descriptions of the shells. This extends the shell model into a formalism useful for molecular -dynamics. The fluctuations of the shell positions...

sd-shell observables for the USDA and USDB Hamiltonians

Two new interactions, USDA and USDB [1], have recently been obtained from fits of 63 two-body matrix elements (TBME) and three single-particle energies to the experimental values for 608 energies (for the ground states and low-lying excited states) of the sd-shell nuclei from A = 16 to A = 40. These are used for configuration-interaction calculations involving the 0d5/2, 0d3/2, and 1s1/2 active...
